We delight in making others feel special- not just on birthdays and holidays, but on random Wednesdays, too. We celebrate simple joys, like finding a handwritten card in your mailbox and art prints that make you smile. We source sustainably and donate 5% of product sales to causes that empower women and girls around the world. We value kindness, connection, grace and gratitude. We inspire joy one design at a time.
Karen Kennedy is a graphic designer, landscape architect, beach lover, plant hoarder and dog mom. Shortly after relocating to San Diego in 2018, she and her husband began experimenting with acrylic paint and oil in our garage. With every painting, her “someday plan” of launching a small graphic design business took shape.
The name, and the moon will rise, is a play on Victor Hugo's Les Miserables: "even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise." While Karen adores the sun (it's a basic requirement of living in Southern California), it's the moon's restorative and healing powers that have always captured her heart and imagination. No matter how chaotic her days, she knows that the moon will soon rise, and with it an opportunity to reflect, refocus and let her creative energy flow. and the moon will rise is a labor of love, rooted in the belief that it's never too late to follow your dreams.
